About John Mark
John Mark (JM) Veazey has been singing and songwriting for forty plus years. His work is available for other artists, TV, film, advertising, other media, and work-for-hire projects.
In 2005, John Mark established his corporation, Vesci, LLC, to manage his music industry business. The following year, he released his first album “When I See It In Your Eyes” under the band name of CroonBoom. John Mark released his second album, “Two Hearts On Fire” in 2014. Having lived and experienced life on 3 different continents and among many different cultures, John Mark has a unique human viewpoint and global perspective that comes out in some of his music. He is also a hopeless romantic, so love-inspired songs are not a rarity.
John Mark was born in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma on August 28, 1960.
“I lived there 9 months and have never been back since”, John Mark says. “My Dad was a WWII and Vietnam veteran, and a retired U.S. Army Colonel. I was a dependent of the military for the first 17 years of my life. We typically moved every 2-3 years to some other part of the USA or world.”
Besides living in a military family, John Mark was raised in a deeply religious home. John Mark's music experience began with singing in church as part of the congregation and then in youth choirs. "I went to church every Sunday morning, every Sunday evening and every Wednesday evening until I was old enough to say no, and get away with it", John Mark says.
Beginning in 1971, while in 5th grade, and continuing through his secondary school years, John Mark received instruction in piano, french horn, trumpet, and learned the skill of reading music while playing in school bands. John Mark graduated in 1978 from South Gwinnett High School in Snellville, GA. "What a sad end to my high school years. I say that because of the grand beginning", John Mark says. "I went to South Gwinnett my last 2 years. My first 2 years were spent at the Izmir American High School in Izmir, Turkey. Nothing could compare to that experience."
John Mark moved to Reno, Nevada in 1981. The very next year, he joined the cover rock 'n' roll band Danger Zone as lead singer (see Photos). During the '80s, John Mark was a member of various cover bands, both as singer and sound engineer, but primarily was the lead singer and lyricist for the original rock band Les Mor (see Photos). John Mark has been writing his own music and lyrics ever since.
During post-secondary school (5 colleges and 2 universities around the country), John Mark had further instruction in vocals, piano, and music theory & transcription. After moving from Reno back to Georgia in '89, John Mark moved to Southern California in '92. In 2000, John Mark graduated from the University of La Verne (California), with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration (Magna Cum Laude and Departmental Honors).
Since graduating from college, John Mark has been focused on music more than ever. " I even sang a season with the Riverside Master Chorale."
